Today I received an email from Greg Acland, another Brackin family researcher, that gave me the parents of John D. Brackin. This information is from two different family trees on Ancestry.com. The parents that I had listed previously I had no documentation for and they will be reduced to a footnote.

The parents suggested in the email are Henry Brackin (1796-1871) and Susan Yarnall (1800-1857). The really good news is that Henry Brackin is included in William Bracken of New Castle County Deleware and His Descendants by H. M. Bracken, M. D.. This links our family to William Bracken's family tree. William Bracken arrived in Philadelphia from Liverpool, England on August 25, 1699 aboard the ship Britannia. I have long believed that there was a connection there, but couldn't make the link. It isn't every day that you get to add 130+ years to your family tree!

I have Volume 1 of H. M. Bracken's book. It is 592 pages. Don't hold your breath for me to get all that information into the tree. It will take a while, but it is coming.
